Days since we asked our opponent to denounce Bo French.
On September 13, Bo French looked at young Texans celebrating a Longhorns win and called their presence a “problem.” That is racism. It should not be hard to say so.
House Speaker Dustin Burrows said it. Senator John Cornyn said it. We said it.
On September 14, we called on our opponent — the current Texas Land Commissioner — to denounce that rhetoric. She never did.
Silence is a choice. Leadership is too.
When I look at those students, I do not see a problem. I see future engineers, teachers, small-business owners, and public servants. I see young Texans reaching for the same opportunity that brought me to this country with two bags of clothes and a willingness to work.
Texas deserves a Land Commissioner who will stand up for every Texan, even when it is politically inconvenient. That is the job. That is the standard. Texans First. Always.
